The United Nations High Panel for Water was established in January 2016 after the presentation of the initiative to establish the World’s first international investment bank dedicated to finance the water sector globally by the Founder and Chairman of the IWB Board Mr. Rashad Shawa to the World Bank Group in Washington D.C in September 2015 that resulted due to the importance of such an initiative to the world and to sustainable development of countries around the world in having such a world class bank that will have a great impact on this sector in the international arena. H.E. Mr. Ban Ki Moon congratulated Mr. Rashad Shawa for bringing such a initiative and unique bank to the world .
In January 2016 and based on the presentation of the presentation of Rashad Shawa Chairman of MAI to the World Bank and IFC for the project Water for the World. The World Bank announced a high level Panel on Water, The link:
